Abstract
1415556 Comminuting apparatus CHALLENGE-COOK BROS INC 9 Oct 1973 [24 Oct 1972] 46986/73 Heading B2A Apparatus for rasping a compacted additive for concrete comprises a grinding chamber 18 with a grinding rotor 27 supplied with the compacted material 60 and fluid e.g. compressed air under pressure. The material is fed by pistons 32 along tubes 11, 12 Fig. 2. When one tube is empty the other comes into use while the first tube is recharged. The rate of advance of material 60 is controlled by a variable hydraulic system Fig. 5 (not shown). Air inlets 62 supply air to prevent accummulation of powdered additive behind the pistons 32. The chamber 18 has an inlet port and an outlet port 29 for the compressed air. The material in ground form is delivered suspended in a fluid medium via a conduit 3 Fig. 1 to a known concrete pump 2.
