Abstract
1,233,272. Mixing in conduits. MARKHAM & CO. Ltd. 8 Oct., 1969 [13 Nov., 1968], No. 53795/68. Heading B1C. [Also in Divisions B8, F1 and F2] A dry concrete mix is discharged from a hopper 45 by a pocket wheel 27, the bottoms of the pockets being curved to be swept by compressed air from a pipe 39, forcing material from them into a delivery conduit 40 and thence into a delivery pipe (not depicted), adjacent the delivery end of which is a water injection flange (50, Figs. 4 and 5, not shown) having an inner peripheral channel (52) from which water passes through holes 57 to an annular channel 56 formed between abutting rings 54, 55. The pocket wheel and the water pump are driven by a common variable speed electric or pneumatic motor 11 so that the dry mix and the water are delivered at constant ratio predetermined rates. The water delivery rate may be adjusted by varying the stroke of the water pump, see Figs. 9-12 (not shown) and Divisions Fl and F2.
