Abstract

1414473 Heat exchangers COVRAD Ltd 6 Feb 1973 [10 Feb 1972] 6171/72 Heading F4S In a heat exchanger, e.g. a vehicle radiator, comprising a plurality of tubular elements 10 spaced apart and interconnected at opposite ends by tubular spacer members 11, 15 which define inlet and outlet manifolds, certain of the spacers 15 of each manifold are formed with lateral extensions to which a liquid inlet or outlet connector 25 is secured. The lateral extensions are provided with passages 17 to permit communication with the manifold interior. Each manifold includes a manifold tube 12 having a continuous slot 20 to permit fluid communication with the tubular elements 10. Fins 13 extend between and are bonded to adjacent elements 10.
