Abstract

1414168 Rotary positive-displacement fluidmachines USHIO KOGYO CO Ltd 4 Sept 1972 [19 Feb1972] 40857/72 Heading F1F [Also in Division B3] In a hand-held sliding-vane pneumatic-motor for a tool such as grindstone, a cylinder 2 is secured in a tubular casing 1 by fixed retainers 7, 8 and houses a rotor 3, air being conveyed to and from inlet and exhaust openings 13, 14 by way of grooves a, b, which facilitate formation of the casing by extrusion. The air flow to the groove a from a hose 5 through a filter 6 is regulated by a manuallyoperated valve comprising a grip 18 and tube 4 inter-connected by screw threads. A second embodiment, Figs.8 to 10 (not shown), differs mainly in that spent air is discharged by way of a groove c in addition to the grooves b, and a sound arrester (37).
