Deflectable axle-ends; steering-gear and steering.-In a combined motor and steering unit, more particularly applicable for the operation of agricultural tractors, in which the motors are displaced angularly with the steering wheels which they drive, each of the motors and the wheel which it drives are displaced angularly about a vertical axis passing through two fixed points of the frame of the vehicle, the vertical axis being the axis of the motor cylinder. Two motor units 1 may be employed symmetrically disposed about the axis of the control shaft 9, as shown in Fig. 2, or a single motor unit may be used in conjunction with an idle wheel on the axle of the driving wheel, or four motor units may be employed to form a tractor with an equal number of driving and steering wheels. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 2, the motor casing 16 is integral with a sleeve 3 which extends through the driving wheel 4 and forms a bearing for the extension 2 of the crank-shaft. The steering movement is controlled by the shaft 9 which has a pinion 14 engaging toothed segments 15 extending from the motor casings. The shaft 9 is operated by the steering-wheel shaft 12 through worm gearing 11, 10, housed in a casing 8.
