Abstract
1411194 Gas discharge lamps GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 13 March 1973 [14 March 1972] 11987/73 Heading H1D A discharge lamp comprises an envelope containing two electrodes and having a fluorescent coating which emits green-blue light on excitation by ultra violet radiation and a filling comprising 70% to 99À9% neon, 0 to 5% argon and 0À1% to 25% argon. The preferred filling is 0À8% argon, 1À0% xenon, 98À2% neon. Suitable fluorescent materials are zinc silicate, strontium apatite, or magnesium gallate and the material can be applied to the envelope or to the electrodes. A coloured lacquer can be applied to the envelope.
