Abstract

1378188 Discharge lamps PATENT-TREUHAND GES FUR ELEKTRISCHE GLUHLAMPEN mbH 11 Feb 1972 [11 Feb 1971] 6575/72 Heading H1D A high pressure Ag discharge lamp with a wall loading of 8 to 20 w./cm<SP>2</SP>. comprises a discharge tube 1 within an outer envelope 13 the tube containing halides of at least three rare earth metals the total amount of r.e. metals being 0À3 to 1À2 mg./cm. of arc length. A fused SiO 2 tube 1 with reflecting ZrO 2 coatings 8, 9 of different area at each end and ThO 2 activated W electrodes 2, 3 is filled with A, Hg, Tm, Ho, Dy, HgI 2 , TlI and CsI; Er may also be included. The arc length is a multiple of the tube diameter. The lamp has a spectrum close to daylight and is used in TV studios, stadiums and exhibition halls.
