Abstract
1409557 Manufacturing prefabricated room units C VAN DER LELY NV 28 Sept 1972 [1 Oct 1971] 44929/72 Heading E1S Prefabricated room units, each comprising at least two panels each forming a floor 80, walls 81 or 82, or a ceiling 83, are manufactured on a factory production line comprising a manufacturing line 10 with means for forming panels 80-83, at least some of which comprise a concrete filling between metal beams, an assembly station 35 where the panels are connected to form the room units, and an assembly line 7 where finishing work is carried out on the units. The floor and wall panels 80-82 comprise metal frames 87 and metal edge beams 84, 85 respectively with a concrete filling, these panels being cast in moulds on the line 10. The ceiling panels 83 comprise metal frames 89 and suitable sheet material attached thereto on the line 10. The panels are stored in temporary stores 11, 12, 30 at the end of the line 10. At the station 35 each room unit is assembled by welding the ends of beams 84, 85 to the corners of frames 87, 89. On the line 7 roofing, wall covering &c, doors, windows and equipment are fitted, conduits and ducts for services having been installed during casting of the walls. An auxiliary manufacturing line 24 is used to cut and weld metal beams to form the panel frames. Conveying of materials, panels and room units is variously by overhead travelling cranes, roller conveyors and on rails. The claims are directed to the manufacturing method.
