Abstract
140,730. Timpson, F. M., and Robertson, A. O. Dec. 9, 1919. Safety valves.-A combined pressure and vacuum relief valve, of the kind described in Specification 100,928, in which the pressure-relief valve member carries the seat for the vacuumrelief valve member, has the main valve seat machined on the casing and has the adjustment for the pressure-valve loading-spring mounted on a hollow column carried by a flanged cover screwed on to the casing. This loading-spring 27 is arranged between the hollow stem 22 of the valve 6 and a plate G provided with horns adapted to pass through slots F and be engaged by a nut H screwed onto the pillar E. The loading-spring 28 for the other valve is arranged between the end of the pillar and a plate 25 adjustably mounted on the valve stem 9, which passes through the plate G and the hollow stem 22. The loading adjustments are protected by a cover 18 screwed on to a boss D formed on the cover 16, and the outlet apertures by gauze 13 and a shield I secured by screws J to the cover 16. Lugs B are cast on the casing to prevent the vacuum relief valve falling from the casing when dismantling.
