Mincing.-A mincing-machine of the type having a forcing-screw, a cutter on the screw, and a perforated cutting-plate kept against the cutter by a retaining-ring, is characterized by the retaining-ring being secured to the barrel by a two point attachment which preferably permits slight rocking of the cutting-plate. As shown in Fig. 2, the cutter 4 is carried on the screw 2 and bears against the cutting-plate 5 which is retained in position by the ring 8. The ring 8 has diametrically opposite apertured lugs 9 which register with tapped lugs 12 on the barrel 1. Bolts 11, which may be fixed in the lugs on the barrel, keep the ring 8 and cutter 4 in position. Means may be provided to prevent the bolts from being tightened sufficiently to stop the rocking of the cutting-plate. As shown in Fig. 5, the lugs 9 are provided with protuberances 15 and the faces of the heads of the bolts 11 are curved to permit the free rocking of the cutterplate. In modifications, the lugs 9 are provided with convex faces and coil springs or spring washers are interposed beween the heads of the bolts 11 and the lugs 9 to permit the rocking movement.
