Abstract

140,692. Kawanishi, S. Aug. 26, 1919. Metallic spring bodies and cores.-Coiled springs 6 are fitted between pairs of curved plates 1, 1<1> having flanged edges 2 to prevent separation, such abutting units being clamped to the rim by bolts 4. The springs are secured by plates 3 fitted under the heads of the bolts 4, and by engaging in grooves in wood or like segments 4<1>. A wearing tread 8 of rubber or metal may be fitted as shown. Fig. 3 shows a modified form of spring in which the smaller coils 6<1>. Figs. 1 and 2, are replaced by open incurved portions.
