Abstract

1403308 Contact for two part coupling CANNON ELECTRIC (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd 17 July 1973 33958/73 Heading H2E A contact for a socket is formed from a flat metal strip by bending up wings 1, 2 into triangular form in order to accept a cylindrical, square, rectangular or U-section pin: wings 1, 2 are slotted to increase resilient deformability; they are also dimpled inwardly (not shown) about one third of their length from the left end to define contact areas. The contact is inserted into a housing from the rear, and is pushed forward until retaining tine 4, struck from base 3 before bending, snaps behind a shoulder, leaving tag 6 for crimping to a wire.
