Abstract

1,012,876. Two-part couplings. AMP. Inc. Sept. 10, 1964 [Sept. 26, 1963], No. 37054/64. Heading H2E. A hermaphroditic electrical connector comprises a pair of substantially parallel contact arms 5 and 6 arranged in an opposed convex manner and of V-shaped cross section integrally joined along part of their length by a web portion 4 which, by bending, permits relative transverse movement of the arms. The free end of each arm is partly spherical. Before engagement, the arms of each contact are slightly convergent towards their free end. The contacts are assenbled in orthogonal relationship, and are moved towards each other until the forward sections of web portions 4 abut.
