140,246. Parsons, H. M. May 3, 1919. Teeth, artificial.-A hollow metal stud for holding a soft-rubber suction disk in place on a denture is provided with a layer of vulcanite covering the head of the stud so that no metal part is in contact with the mouth. In the formation of the denture, an aluminium or other pattern B, formed with an annular ridge B<1> enclosing a circular space H<1>, is placed on the usual mould A. Vulcanizing-rubber G is placed in the depression, and the stud D, formed with a hollow shank E and fitted with a cardboard washer C, is placed thereon. The mould is then packed and vulcanized as usual, so that the vulcanite F of the denture penetrates the shank E and unites with the vulcanite G covering the head of the stud. The pattern B and washer C are removed as usual and a soft rubber disk placed on the stud.
