Teeth, artificial. - A two-part pattern for the production of a suction surface in a vulcanite denture comprises a relatively thick soft-metal pattern-block 30 and a thin soft-metal mould-plate 20 having contacting surfaces of the same contour. The pattern as a whole is bent to conform to the plaster matrix 42 and is secured thereto and, after packing and compression of the vulcanite material, the moulding-flask is opened, the pattern-block 30 removed and the space so produced is filled with rubber which will remain soft after vulcanizing. The mould-plate which remains in the flask, and which may be supported at its centre by a supplementary shield 34, gives the required form to the surface of the soft rubber. The pattern-block serves to protect the rugosities of the mould-plate during bending to the shape of the plaster matrix. The patterns may be of circular or other shapes such as those indicated in Figs. 1, 5 and 8, and may be employed for upper or lower dentures.
