Abstract

110,824. Nove, A. A. Dec. 4, 1916 Teeth, artificial.-The tooth comprises a hollow porcelain shell A of approximately uniform thickness, the hollow interior corresponding to the external contour, and a thin hollow metal matrix P cemented to the porcelain and anchored to the denture by vulcanization or soldering, or attached by soldering or otherwise to a post fitted to the root of a natural tooth. A layer of soft rubber D, Fig. 7, may be placed between the porcelain A and the metal matrix B or between the latter and the vulcanite of the denture. The hollow matrix may be stamped or drawn to shape, or may be electrically deposited upon a mould or former, or may be made of two parts soldered or brazed together. In modifications, co-acting grooves and projections may be formed on the inner wall of the porcelain and on the metal matrix. Figs. 8, 11, 14, and 21 show examples of such constructions.
