Abstract

102,299. Dettinger, J. G., and Welker, F. H. March 10, 1916. Teeth, artificial.-A metal pin f is secured to an artificial tooth b by soldering it to a platinum disk d embedded at the bottom of a recess moulded in the tooth. The platinum disk is inserted at the biscuit stage, so as to be held in place firmly by the shrinkage of the porcelain mass during burning. The pins forming the recess during moulding may be loose in the mould so as to come away with the tooth and be afterwards removed, or may be fixed to the mould. In a modification, two pins are secured in this manner to a tooth. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 103,017.
