Abstract
1402454 Feeding sheets MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG AG 23 Aug 1972 [24 Aug 1971] 39338/72 Heading B8R Registering sheets.-A lateral registering mechanism comprising a feed table 19, Fig. 1, a side stop 5, a laterally movable corrugated plate 2 and co-operating dabber roll 4 for registering a sheet against the stop, and cam means for moving the members 2, 4, 5 up and down and the members 2, 4 laterally, is provided upstream of the members 2, 4 with a rotatable carrier 24, Fig. 3, above the sheet path carrying two light sources 9, 10 and corresponding photo-sensitive devices 13, 12, the reflection points 18, 17 thereof being aligned with an aperture 20 in the table 19, to monitor the lateral position of the sheet with respect to the desired registration line 11. The axis A of the carrier 24 is perpendicular to the sheet feed plane and bisects a line joining the points 17, 18. By rotating the carrier, the distance of the points 17, 18 from the line 11 is variable to adjust the sensitivity of the monitoring device.
