1401742 Pump casings INDUSTRIEELE HANDELSCOMBINATIE HOLLAND 9 March 1973 [16 March 1972] 11517/73 Heading F1C The inner casing 9 of a pump having a double casing 9 and 6 is pre-stressed to withstand pressure surges within the pump. As shown, the pump is a centrifugal pump for dredging, the inner casing 9 being pre-stressed by pressure fluid in the space 14 between the inner and outer casing, and by pins 12 spring biased against the inner casing. The inner casing is axially movable relative to the outer casmg and is sealingly mounted on end covers 3 and 4. Again the casing 9 may be pre-stressed by springs on its circumference.
