1401282 Dead-burned magnesia STEETLEY (MFG) Ltd 3 Nov 1972 [9 Nov 1971] 52065/71 Heading C1A A dead-burned magnesia contains lime, silica, alumina, iron oxide and boric oxide as the major impurities wherein the magnesia contains (a) 0À05 to 0À6% by weight of silica; (b) 0À01 to 0À25% by weight of alumina; (c) ess than (1À6 - 5A)% by weight of iron oxide, where A is the percentage by weight of alumina; and (d) less than 10% by weight of boric oxide based on the weight of silica, the ratio by weight of lime to silica being greater than (1+S)<SP>2</SP>/2À1S and less than 2+ (1/2S) where S is the percentage by weight of silica. The magnesia may be that obtained by the process of Specificaton 1,378,383 if necessary after purification or the addition of foreign ions.
