1401241 Cartons INTERNATIONAL INPAK Inc 4 July 1972 [6 July 1971] 31147/72 Heading B8P A carton folded from a blank comprises four sides and two ends, each end having a panel 14 and flap 28, a locking flap 32 with a tab 34 that engages a slot 30 and two portions 21, 22 extending from two opposite walls and gusset panels 25, 26. Some or all of the sides (17, 18 as shown in Fig. 9) are transparent. The portions 21, 22 may be four-sided as shown or triangular and in other embodiments (Figs. 10 and 13) may extend away from one another or from two other sides of the carton. A panel 15 forming a display card and by which the carton can be suspended extends from one side of the carton. In other embodiments, elongate articles may be held at each end by cuff portions 134, 135 formed from parts struck out of a back panel 131; again, the display panel may extend diagonally from one end to the other of the top wall panel (Fig. 19, not shown). Two cartons may be formed from a single blank, see Fig. 8, folded at a line 42 so that they may be suspended from a rod R. A reclosable carton may be formed from the form shown in Fig. 9 by the provision of a perforated panel in the rear side wall that can be torn open and then reclosed by means of a tuck-in flap (Figs. 14, 15, not shown). The carton may be made from cardboard, paper, plastic or foil, transparent panels being of an acetate or vinyl plastic; alternatively the carton may be made entirely from a transparent material. A sheet of printed cardboard may be laminated with the display panel or the transparent material can be used as a printing surface.
