Abstract
1400637 Safety caps for containers E H GREEN and E H GREEN JNR 15 May 1973 [17 May 1972 19 April 1973] 23186/73 Heading B8T A safety cap, e.g. of resilient plastics material, for an aerosol dispenser has a flexible central portion 48 which is pressed downwards to remove the cap, the pressure causing arms 56 to pivot outwardly so that flanges 62 disengage from an annular recess 22 extending round the neck of the dispenser. Each arm 56 has a web 58 for transmitting pivotal force and is separated from an adjacent arm by a section (52) of an annular segmented wall (50), Fig. 4 (not shown). Reinforcing ribs (67), Fig. 6 (not shown), may be provided between the wall (50) and the outer wall of the cap. The flanges (62a), Fig. 10 (not shown), may be formed on arms (56) of arcuate cross-section which themselves form a segmented wall.
