Abstract

1400591 Window frames J M F NEW ZEALAND Ltd 20 Sept 1972 43546/72 Heading E1J A window frame comprises frame members 2, 3, 4 with facing members 5 on their outer sides, at least one member 5 supporting the sash, rebates in the sash forming with the members on chamber 41 connected to the exterior atmosphere. Stays and hinges of openable sashes 80, 81 are secured to the facings 5. A fixed sash (Fig. 13, not shown) is secured by nails (31) through blocks 33 supported on the facings. The facing members are glued to the frame members. Corner joints of the frame, facing sash and mullions may comprise nailed lap or mortise and tenon joints (Figs. 5-10, not shown).
