Abstract
1398867 Integrated circuits PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 May 1972 [22 May 1971] 3906/75 Divided out of 1398862 Heading H1K The subject-matter of this Specification is identical to that of Specification 1,398,862, but the claims are concerned with an integrated circuit including a multi-layer current injector structure for providing bias current to zones of at least two circuit elements, the injector structure comprising at least three successive layers mutually separated by recifying junctions and including a first, injecting layer and an adjoining second, intermediate layer which two layers have connections to enable the junction therebetween to be forward biased as that charge carriers are injected from the former to the latter and charge carriers are collected by the zones to be biased, wherein means are provided in the current injector structure to provide a difference in magnitude of the bias currents supplied to two of the zones to be biased so that the two circuit elements concerned operate at different current levels. The difference in bias current may be provided by arranging that the bias currents to the two zones to be biased are injected across rectifying junctions of differing area or by spacing the successive junctions of the two current injector structures at different distances. A variety of modifications are disclosed which do not lie within the terms of the present invention, but form the subject-matter of Specifications 1,398,862, 1,398,863, 1,398,864, 1,398,865, 1,398,866 and 1,398,868.
