Abstract
1398866 Integrated circuits PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 May 1972 [22 May 1971] 3621/75 Divided out of 1398862 Heading HIK The subject-matter of this Specification is entirely contained in that of Specification 1,398,862, but the claims are concerned with an integrated circuit including a multi-layer current injector structure for providing bias current to at least one zone of a circuit element, the injector structure comprising at least three successive layers mutually separated by rectifying junctions and including a first, injecting layer and an adjoining second, intermediate layer, which two layers have connections to enable the junction therebetween to be forward biased so that charge carriers are injected from the former to the latter and charge carriers are collected by the zone to be biased, wherein an inset insulating layer is provided between two surface zones to be biased in the adjoining zone which is common to the injector structures for both zones to be biased. A variety of modifications are disclosed which do not lie within the terms of the present invention, but form the subject-matter of Specifications 1,398,862, 1,398,863, 1,398,864, 1,398,865, 1,398,867 and 1,398,868.
