Abstract
1398863 Integrated circuits PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 May 1972 [22 May 1971] 3618/75 Divided out of 1398862 Heading H1K The subject-matter of this Specification is identical with that of Specification 1,398,862, but the claims are concerned with an integrated trigger circuit for a memory array, each trigger circuit comprising first and second base-tocollector-cross-coupled transistors, bias current for the bases of the transistors being provided by a multi-layer current injector structure having at least three successive layers mutually separated by rectifying junctions and including a first, injecting layer and an adjoining second, intermediate layer, which two layers have connections to enable the junction therebetween to be forward biased so that charge carriers are injected from the former to the latter, and a third, collecting layer adjoining and collecting carriers injected from the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer of the current injector forms a common emitter for the first and second transistors of at least a row of trigger circuits, and the bases of each of the first and second transistors are connected, via the emittercollector path of a lateral complementary transistor, to a read-write conductor common to a column of trigger circuits. A variety of other circuits using multi-layer current injectors are described which do not lie within the terms of the present invention but form the subjectmatter of Specifications 1,398,862, 1,398,864, 1,398,865, 1,398,866, 1,398,867 and 1,398,868.
