Abstract
1398806 Fuel supply stopping ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 5 Oct 1973 [7 Oct 1972] 46557/73 Heading F1B A device for interrupting the fuel supply when an engine stops comprises an air-measuring element 2, Fig. 1 in an intake manifold and displaceable from a starting position in dependence on the induction air-flow and a relay 27 whose normally closed switch 29 is connected between the ignition switch 33 and an electrically operable fuel supply device 14, the air-measuring element 2 in the starting position closing a switch contact 19 to enable energization of the relay when the ignition switch is closed. When element 2 is deflected by the airflow from its Fig. 1 position the circuit of relay 27 is interrupted and switch 29 is closed by spring 28 so that when ignition switch 33 is closed, the fuel pump 14 and the hot-running device 39 are energized. In a modification Fig. 2 when switch 33 is closed and element 2 is in its starting position the relay circuit 32, 33, 30, 26, 8, 43 and 34 is closed. The current flow through coil 30 opens switch 29 to interrupt the current supply to the fuel pump 14 and closes switch 45 to supply the fuel pump 14 only when the starter switch 47 is closed. In a further modification a bi-metallic time switch (50) Fig. 3 (not shown) prevents energization of the relay 27 for a specific time after closure of the ignition switch.
