Abstract

1355621 Ignition circuits for IC engines LINDE AG 5 Jan 1972 [1 April 1971] 404/72 Headings F1B and F1K An electrical ignition circuit for an I.C. engine comprising a manually operable first ignition switch 4, Fig.3 connected to control an ignition system 10 and an electrically operated valve 8 in a fuel feed line, a second ignition switch 14 connected to by-pass the first ignition switch 4 and to control ignition system 10 only; and a device 20, 21 operative when the engine is running to actuate the second ignition switch 14. Closing switch 4 actuates the ignition system 10 and valve 8 so that the engine can be started, causing vacuum sensor 20, in the intake pipe 18 to close switch 21 and enable change-over switch 14 to be activated. Ignition system 10 is then supplied direct via lines 15 and 9 so that when ignition switch 4 is opened, ignition is available until the engine stops as a result of having its fuel supply stopped. In Fig.1 (not shown) the switch 14 is actuated by current from an engine driven generator. In Fig.2 (not shown) switch 21 acts as the second ignition switch and in Fig.4 (not shown) the switch 21 is also the second ignition switch and is actuated by a heating resistor 27. There is a time delay between deenergization of resistor 27 and opening of switch 21.
