Abstract

1398129 Mineral-mining machines GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA 28 July 1972 [13 Aug 1971] 35347/72 Heading E1F At the ends of an elongate beam 13 of a mineral-mining plough are pivotally mounted about axes 20 extending laterally of the beam carriers 19 for opposed cutters and blades, the blades being directed towards the centre of the beam. The blades of each carrier preferably comprise an upper skimming blade 30, a lower skimming and loading blade 28, the blade 30 being pivotally secured to the carrier. The cutters of each carrier preferably comprise cutters 24 rigidly mounted on the carrier, floor cutters 25 and cutters 27 mounted on a spindle rotatably supported on the carrier and cutters 33 mounted on a support that is pivoted on the carrier about axis 31. The support is connected to blade 30 by a link 22 so that only the blade 30 or the cutters 33 is or are effective for a given direction of movement of the plough along a face. The spindle 26 can be rotated by a rack and pinion-driven linkage. Specification 1398130 is referred to.
