Abstract

1396876 Bolt mechanisms MARSLAND & CO LTD 17 Nov 1972 [18 Nov 1971] 53713/71 Heading E2A A bolt mechanism for a sliding panel e.g. a door 12 comprises a body 10, 11 having a rectilinear guidway slidably guiding a bolt 28 which has a portion 19 for manual acutation of the bolt 28. The bolt 28 carries a member 31 comprising a detent 32 which is laterally offset from but projects in a direction parallel to the lengthwise direction of the guidway. A locking element 37, 38 is provided mounted in the body and manually movable, when the bolt 28 is in its endmost position of sliding movement in the direction in which the detent 32 projects, into and out of a position blocking return movement of the bolt 28. As shown the member 31 is mounted on the bolt 28 by a screw 44 and by means of interengaging teeth on the member 31 and bolt 28 the position of the member 31 with respect to the bolt is adjustable. The bolt is held in the guidway by a spring loaded washer 18, the washer cooperates with a cylindrical surface 25 on the bolt 28 to thereby hold the bolt 28 in its two end positions. A key operated detent 40 is provided, the detent working in a V-shaped notch in the bolt 28 so that the latter can be operated by rotation of a key. The body is in two parts 10, 11 joined by screws 13.
