Castors.-In castors of the type having a wood-screw carrying the castor horn and a disk or plate threaded on the screw which is adapted to lock the wood - screw in engagement with the furniture leg and also serve as the upper bearing-surface of the horn, the attachment plate or disk g is loosely mounted upon the screw, a so as to be capable of substantial axial sliding movement, and is prevented from rotation relatively to the screw by fitting over a squared or equivalently-shaped enlargement j of the screw. The annular portion f of the castor horn is carried by a flange b on the head of the screw and bears against a convex surface h of the disk g. The screw may be provided with a squared head c and may be rotated by a key having a recess fitting the head. The plate g is formed with countersunk perforations l to enable it to be fastened to the end of the furniture leg.
