Abstract

Holders.-The inlet to an electric fitting is made water-tight by means of a conical block f of resilient material, through which the leads pass, and which is forced against the conical sides e of the inlet and against the wires by means of a nut g, which holds the lamp-holder in place, and a shoulder k in the inlet. The lamp-holder has a flange c which is pressed against the face of the block by the nut. Means such as projections on the block f engaging slots or openings in the inlet may be used to prevent the block from turning and twisting the wires. The block f may be backed by a washer having countersunk holes for the leads, with which recesses or projections in or on the block engage.
