1395506 Stud-and-socket fasteners TASKERS TRAILERS LTD 2 May 1972 [13 Aug 1971] 38129/71 Heading E2B The fastening member 36 of a twist-lock fastener is carried in a guiding sleeve 35, both being axially movable together as a single assembly for retraction into the mounting body or projection into a fastening portion, and a supporting member within the body may be moved to a position in which it supports this assembly in its projecting position or releases it for retraction. In the form shown in Figs 2, 3 and 4, the fastener spindle is provided with flats 60, 64 and 65 which are engaged selectively by spring-loaded latches 62 to hold it in axial position until freed by rotation by handle 37. In a modification, Figs 7 and 8, the guide is supported by a U-shaped member 70 when this is turned to an appropriate position by a lostmotion cam 72 on rotation of the shaft 39 by handle 37. The aperture 40 in the top plate 32 may be of such a shape as to allow passage of the assembly in the fastening or releasing position.
