Abstract

1393673 Gas discharge lamps EMI Ltd 11 May 1972 [12 May 1971] 14903/71 Heading H1D An electrodeless discharge lamp is provided externally of the discharge space 2 with a conductive coating 7 of graphite or Nesa (Registered Trade Mark) which acts as a starting electrode. The coating 7 is capacitively coupled to a similar coating 4 on the interior of part 3 of the envelope which is connected to a terminal 5. An insulating knob 8 is provided.
