1393033 Combustible gas SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ NV 12 June 1972 [14 June 1971] 27270/72 Heading C5E A gas containing H 2 and CO is made by partially combusting a hydrocarbon-based fuel, removing soot particles from the gaseous product by washing with water, agglomerating the soot in the wash water with added binder oil and removing the agglomerates from the water, combining the agglomerates with fuel oil at a pressure above 1 kg./cm.<SP>2</SP> and at a temperature above 100‹ C. and supplying the resultant mixture, as fuel, to the partial combustion step above.
