Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase CO content of non-combustion exhaust gas formed in converter refining and to increase the quantity of recovered non-combustion gas, by supplying a carbon source to, and by bringing the carbon source into contact with the exhaust non-combustion gas in order to convert the CO2 contained in the exhaust gas into CO. CONSTITUTION:A supplying means (A) for carbon source is attached to a duct skirt section 3a in order to make it possible to supply the carbon source into a duct 3. In the means (A), a hopper 7 is loaded with a carbon source such as coke, coal etc. The carbon source is led into the duct skirt 3a by blowing inert gas, e.g., Ar gas etc. through a blowing pipe 10. The CO2 contained in the non-combustion exhaust gas formed in the refining process in a converter 1 comes into contact with the carbon source so as to be converted into CO, whereby the quantity of CO is increased, consequently the quantity recovered non-combustion exhaust gas is increased.
