Abstract

1392526 Boring earth &c INTERNATIONAAL TECHNISCHE HANDELSONDERNEMING EN ADVIESBUREAU ITHA NV 23 June 1972 [24 June 1971 3 Aug 1971] 29572/72 Heading E1F In apparatus for making a hole in the earth comprising a tube 1 to be driven into the earth to make the hole and a conduit 2 to supply fluid at pressure to facilitate removal of the earth contained in the tube during withdrawal of the tube, the outlet of the conduit is closed during driving the tube by a stopper which is expelled from the conduit by the fluid pressure. The tube shown is driven with a surrounding casing tube which remains in the earth. The conduit may be outside the tube when a casing tube is not used, and in the making of large holes the conduit or conduits may be separate from the tube. The lower end of the conduit may be formed as a container 10 housing an inflatable bag 9 and closed by the stopper during driving the tube. A pipe 11 supplies fluid below the bag during withdrawal of the tube.
