Abstract

1392493 Frames for lifting containers LIDHULTS MEKANISKA VERKSTAD AB 17 May 1972 [25 May 1971] 23291/72 Heading B8H [Also in Division E2] A side lift frame which is mountable on a tractor for use in lifting a container by engagement with a vertical side thereof has two sets of upper fastening means 5 (only one shown), each mounted on a plate 4 for vertical movement by means of a ram into an out of engagement with apertures in the top of the container, and lower fastening means in the form of a pair of horizontally arranged clawlike fastening elements 12 (only one of which is shown), each being movable by means of a ram 8 whose rod 9 engages the element 12 to cause it to move about a vertical shaft 11 into the opening 13 of a recess 14 in the container for engagement with the sides of the opening. Each fastening element 12 is spring tensioned by a spring 16 such that the elements 12 can move relative to the frame 1 to accommodate containers having lower apertures of varied spacings, each shaft 11 moving in oval slots (not shown).
