Abstract

139,053. Wace, E. F. April 4, 1919. Rulers.-In order to measure the separation between the members F, G of a parallel ruler in any desired units, a measuring-arm B is pivoted at 0 to the member F, and has an extension P which can be set along one of a number of radial lines on a member A. The graduations on the arm B are read against the edge E of the member G. The radial lines may be marked on the member G. In order to limit the extent of opening of the rulers, an adjustable stop may be provided consisting of collets C<1>, C<2>, Fig. 2, carrying detents S', S<2> adapted to abut against the links L, M. The collets may be secured in any desired position by tightening the nut N.
