Abstract

279,681. Dyke, R. A. Jan. 8, 1927. Squares; bevels.-The instrument, which is particularly intended for solving roof problems, is of the kind having two limbs B, T at right-angles to each other and a telescopic hypotenuse or fence F which is pivoted to one limb and adjustable along the other. The hinge A by which the fence is pivoted to the limb B has its axis passing through the point of intersection of the working edges of the members F, B. The fence F is bifurcated at each end to straddle both the members B, T. At its outer end it bears on a pin P passing through a block b which can slide in a slot S in the member A. The fence can be secured in any position of adjustment by a clamp 3, and has a portion of reduced thickness sliding within the remainder, this portion being provided with scales G. Scales are also marked on the limb T.
