Abstract

1389434 Imidazobenzodiazepines UPJOHN CO 13 July 1972 [4 Aug 1971] 32885/72 Heading C2C Imidazobenzodiazepines are prepared by the following route (R = H, Me, Et, Pr; R 1,6 =H, C 1-3 alkyl; R 2 = H, C 1-3 alkyl, OH, acetoxy, propionoxy; R 5 =Py, 2-pyrimidyl, furyl, pyrryl, thienyl, C 1-3 alkyl, C 2-3 alkenyl, C 5-7 cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl, R 8 R 9 Ph; R 3,4,8,9 =H, halogen, CF 3 , NO 2 , CN, NH 2 , C 1-3 alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulphinyl, alkylsulphonyl or alkanoylamino, di(C 1-3 alkyl)amino; R 7 =H, Me, Et; R 10 = Me, Et) optionally followed by salt formation. The compounds of Formulae la, 1b and 1c and their salts are sedatives, hypnotics, anticonvulsants, tranquilizers and muscle relaxants and increase growth rate, feed efficiency and milk and egg production in livestock. They may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical and veterinary preparations and feed additives containing them in association with a carrier.
