Abstract

1389436 Imidazobenzodiazepines UPJOHN CO 13 July 1972 [4 Aug 1971] 34125/74 Divided out of 1389434 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (R = H, Me, Et, Pr; R 1,6 = H, C 1-3 alkyl; R 5 =Py, 2-pyrimidyl, furyl, pyrryl, thienyl, C 1-3 alkyl, C 2-3 alkenyl, C 5-7 cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl, R 8 R 9 Ph; R 3,4,8,9 =H, halogen, NO 2 , CN, NH 2 , CF 3 , C 1-3 alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulphinyl alkylsulphonyl, or alkanoylamino, di(C 1-3 alkyl) amino), and their acid addition salts are prepared by reacting the corresponding desoxy compound with a peracid, optionally followed by salt formation. The above compounds are sedatives, hypnotics, anticonvulsants, tranquilizers and muscle relaxants, and increase growth rate, feed efficiency and milk and egg production in livestock. They may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical and veterinary preparations and feed additives containing them in associated with a carrier.
