Abstract
1382605 Benzodiazepines; triazolobenzodiazepines UPJOHN CO 10 Aug 1972 [8 Sept 1971] 37320/72 Heading C2C Benzodiazepines and triazolobenzodiazepines are prepared by the following route (R = H, C 1-3 alkyl, C 3-8 cycloalkyl, C 1-3 haloalkyl, dihaloalkyl or trihaloalkyl, cyanomethyl, phenyl, benzyl, pyrimidyl, pyridyl, pyrryl; R 1 = H, C 1-3 alkyl, OH, OOCCH 3 , OOCC 2 H 5 ; R 2-5 = H, CN, halogen, CF 3 , NO 2 , amino (optionally substituted), C 1-3 alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulphinyl alkylsulphonyl or alkanoylamino, di-(C 1-3 alkyl)amino), optionalyl followed by conversion of the benzodiazepines to their 4-oxides and/or acid addition salt formation. The benzodiazepines, N-oxides and salts are sedatives, tranquilizers, and muscle relaxants, and increase growth rate and feed efficiency of livestock. They may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical or veterinary preparations or feed additives in association with a carrier.
