Couplings and connectors.-A socket e connected at one end to a lead l contains a helical spring r which presses against a movable flat abutmentpiece i having a central rounded cavity j adapted to be engaged by the spherical end d of the other member of the connector, the end d 'being introduced into the socket and guided to a. central position by a button-hole opening g in the other end f of the socket. Electric connexion between the knob d and a brush c is effected by an enclosed spring clamped at one end to the bolt carrying the knob and bearing at its other end against the inner end of the brush. The cavity has flared edges, and the lead l is attached to a cap k retained in the socket by a beaded edge e<1>. A rubber sheath m carried by the socket and the end of the lead l can be turned down, as shown, to cover the joint between the two parts of the connector.
