Abstract

1389390 Squeegees H M UNGER 1 Nov 1973 [6 Nov 1972] 50737/73 Heading A4F A squeegee for cleaning windows and floors comprises a cleaning element 11 fitted in a U- section mount 12 held between clamping jaws 2,3 connected to a handle 4, a clamping lever 14 hinged to the jaw 3 having a manipulating portion which projects through an opening 17 in the jaw 3 and is operable to engage the lever 4 with the sides of the opening 17 to bring the jaw 3 into its gripping position, where it is held by the wedging of the lever 4 against the jaw 2. The cleaning element 11 is of foam rubber or other sponge material or is a flexible rubber strip not of foam rubber. The appliance has a short handle 4 covered by a rubber sheath 5 and formed as a socket for a handle extension 6.
