[Also in Division B2] An attachment for a decorating or cleaning device incorporating a roller 1 mounted on a handled frame 2, 3, comprises a support 4 adapted to be detachably secured to the frame 2, and when so secured, to extend forward from the frame 2 over the roller 1 and to hold a surface-treating element (e.g. a paint brush 8 or squeegee in the form of a strip of rubber 13) adjacent to, but spaced from, the surface of the roller 1 remote from the handle 3. The support 4 may be a substantially fan-shaped or triangular plate extending substantially the full width of the roller 1 and adapted to form a splash-guard over one side of the roller 1, the plate being smoothly curved to follow the curvature of the roller 1 over which it projects, and having recessed grooves or channels 9 to accommodate t h e handled frame 2. The plate 4 is clamped to the handled frame by clamping member 5. The plate 4 is formed with, or has secured thereto, a channel 6 which is of spring form, converges to its open side or has a lip to hold the surface treating element comprising backing member 7 and brush 8 or squeegee 13, which member slides into channel 6. The device may be used to clean windows and upholstery.
