Abstract

1389333 Treating developed electrostatic images FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 25 May 1972 [25 May 1971] 24823/72 Heading G2H [Also in Division B6] An electrostatic latent image, formed on a layer coated on a support and comprising a resin binder and a light-sensitive material, is developed with a gelatine dispersion toner, then the light-sensitive material is removed to leave the layer porous. Preferably the light-sensitive material is zinc oxide, and is removed by leaching with acetic acid or nitric acid. The layer is then washed with water, soaked in an organic liquid which does not dissolve gelatine, the resin binder or the support, and dried. The porous gelatine relief so formed may be used to print with an aqueous dye solution. Supports, resins, photo-conductive materials and organic liquids which can be used are listed, and a procedure is given for the preparation of a gelatine dispersion toner.
