Abstract
1388968 Rotary drum apparatus COLOMER MUNMANY SA 20 March 1973 [27 March 1972] 13187/73 Heading D1L [Also in Division C6] A cylindrical type drum for hide treatment processes is arranged to rotate about the axis of the cylinder 1 and has two ducts 6, 7 extending around more than 180 of the outside of the drum cylindrical face, the ducts communicating with the interior of the drum through respective connections arranged diametrically opposite each other, the other ends of the ducts being presented in the same direction and also being at diametrically opposite sides of the drum, the arrangement being such that loading and unloading is automatically accomplished through the ducts upon reversal of the direction of rotation of the drum. Preferably the ducts are rectangular and are adjacent one another on the outside of the drum. Within the drum two perforated truncated cone-shaped partitions 4, 5 may define spaces which divide the interior into a central 15 and two side chambers 16, 17 in one of which is located an eccentrically disposed container 18 with a radial and a central axial opening. The axial opening extends through the outer end and is located in one of the chambers, drawing in liquid to return it, through a central inlet of the opposing outer end panel, into the chamber defined by the other perforated end panel, to be incorporated with the remainder of the fluid through the perforations in the panel.
