Magneto-electric machines.-In a high-tension ignition magneto rotating at engine speed the ends of the secondary winding are connected to distributor contacts 90 degrees apart and arranged to spark in two cylinders simultaneously. The ends B, C of the secondary winding A are joined to contacts D, E of a collector on the armature shaft, which co-operate with brushes 1 - - 4. In the position shown sparking takes place in cylinders 1', 4<1>, and on turning through 180 degrees in cylinders 2<1>, 3', one spark in each case being ineffective.
