1388213 Antibacterial medicines F HOFFMANN-LA ROCHE & CO AG 6 Feb 1973 [7 Feb 1972] 5791/73 Heading ASB [Also in Division C2] Antibacterial compositions comprise a sulphonamide or antibiotic or salt thereof and a compound of the formula (R 1-3 =C 1-7 alkyl) or acid addition salt thereof, with or without other (unspecified) active ingredients. The benzylpyrimidines potentiate the antibacterial activity of sulphonamides (e.g N<SP>1</SP>-3, 4-dimethyl-5-isoxazolyl sulphanilamide) and antibiotics (e.g. oxytetracycline).
